Your pharmacy degree is more POWERFUL than you realise🥳

Hey mates! 👋👋👋

If you're a recent grad, intern, or early-career pharmacist, let me guess:

  • You’ve questioned whether you made the right career choice

  • You’re not 100% sure what your long-term options are

  • You feel like others around you “have it figured out” while you're still trying to make sense of it all

Sound familiar?

You’re not lacking ambition or ability — you’re just in a system that hasn't yet shown you the full range of what’s possible.

The good news?

We’re entering a golden era of pharmacy. And right now, the profession is expanding far beyond the roles we trained for just a few years ago.

Here’s what’s changing:

  • Community pharmacy is gaining strength as a frontline healthcare hub — not just a place for scripts, but for vaccinations, triage, chronic disease management, and preventative health.

  • Pharmacist-led clinics are emerging, giving more autonomy to practitioners who want a bigger clinical role.

  • Industry and startups are hiring pharmacists for strategy, research, product development, and digital health innovation.

  • Educator and mentor roles are growing as more students, interns, and early-career professionals seek guidance.

  • And leadership pathways are clearer now — from operations management to franchise ownership.

In short: the same degree that lets you counsel a patient on antibiotics can also be your passport to running a multi-million dollar business, shaping national health policy, or creating digital tools that change how we deliver care.

The real challenge?

We don’t talk about these paths enough.
We don’t see them on job boards.
And most importantly — we don’t get taught how to prepare for them.

That’s why communities like this one matter.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing a series of posts about:
✅ Real stories of pharmacists who carved unique career paths
✅ Tips for finding clarity if you're feeling stuck or unsure
✅ How to use your current role (yes, even your retail job) to build future opportunities
✅ Free and paid resources to guide your next steps

What you can do today:

  1. Reflect on what parts of pharmacy work you actually enjoy — is it people? Process? Solving problems? Teaching?

  2. Start talking to other pharmacists outside your current circle. Career clarity often comes from conversation.

  3. Keep showing up here — because the pharmacy you imagined does exist. Sometimes you just need a map to find it.

You’ve got the degree. You’ve got the drive. You’re just missing the direction.

Let’s fix that — together.

Here’s to a career that actually excites you,
